i hate killing.. .. .. ='(
Had a 'family' dinner on one of the weekday night... cos one of my 'uncle'..
(more like bro cos he's quite young.. only like 30? but it's a status thingy.. so-called-uncle..).. Came over for a meal with us.. Still rmb when me n my folks went over to Penang to attend his wedding like 3 yrs back? hee~ his wedding was on new year's eve!! 31-dec.. haha.. so we had over 'cross-over' in msia.. hee~ was v nice and sweet of him to allow us to slp in his condo when we reallie aint that close.. tat's just beside the sea!! i even saw fireworks from the apt at the Penang bridge!! how cool was that!! =D was reallie well taken care of then.. It was just reallie nice having them over for dinner.. havent seen them in ages..
Sometimes.. it's just nice to have such family dinners... you know.. a few relatives gathering together for a nice meal.. Hmm.. ever since my grandparents passed away few yrs back.. sort of nvr had such gathering anymore.. haiz...
Anyway.. on a happier note.. i went back to SGH yesterday!! for the animal course.. (stupid.. bloody course) However, i went back to visit my ex-colleagues!!
MR WONG!! My fave mentor.. hee... I LOVE HIM!! hee~ He's reallie like a
second dad to me.. so sweet.. Almost bought tears to my eyes seeing him again.. he was like giving me advices for life.. haha.. like
'must enjoy ur job... must b happy... must find a good husband.. good heart.. face doesnt matter.. must invite me if you get married hor.., etc..' Just a nice old man..
*muacks* And of course... i met my other colleagues also.. like good buddy rabiah.. just sat there with her and gossiped abt every weird one in the lab.. was played ard with botak Mr Yussery! haha.. he just love to tease me.. =P Histo lab was reallie like my second home.. was runnin back and fro from the course during break times.. haha.. well.. it's conveniently situated beside my lecture theater..
I miss the good people in SGH... i dun miss the rest of them.. i dun miss the job.. i dun miss my boss... *
even hid away fr her when i saw her.. cos didnt wanna pretend to b all chammy with her.. well.. cant blame me for that since she made me HATE SGH..* *Warning.. David dun read this hor, scare later you cry =(*Back to my animal course.. it's a SADISTIC COURSE!! grr... i dun even wanna go for it.. =( had to go alone somemore.. and of all people.. i had to sit beside this wacko doctor.. Basicially we had to learn how to handle animals in the course of research.. I managed to learn injecting into mice and rats.. The lecturer was reallie skilled in handling the animals.. he shows us how to draw blood fr the rat and mice..
There are 3 modes of doing so... either by the 1) tail,
2) behind the eye,
3) in the heart chamber...
CURELTY!! ='( was super squeamish when the lecturer pokes the capillary tube.. (fine glass tubing) into the rats' eyes.... EEEEEwwwww........ he then quickly used the wire guaze to press against it to prevent over bleeding... =(
so stupid... so stupid.... Grrr.... Next up.. He proceed to show us how to tk blood fr the heart... using a syringe.. the rat and mice had to die... then he just cut open the body... ='( show us the anatomy of internal organs.. was just cuttin up the poor mousey... poking ard the organs... damn grossed...
Then... it was practical time... I managed to pick my jumpy mouse up.. and inject it with tranquilliser.. (
nt after i bit me 3 times.. *ouch*) was reallie afraid that i would inject into the rectum or pierce some muscle (wrong place)... luckily it didnt die on me.. *phew*.. was so flustered that i poked myself with the needle.. now it's swollen and painful... =(
Then, it got reallie drowsy... then i had to try takin blood from tail.. (the most humane way i think..) however.. i tried poking, after 3 tries, still couldnt get blood.. i gave up torturing the poor thing.. Did the same with the white rat... it's actually pretty cute!! wanted to tk a pic of it.. but was dressed in protective gown, mask and gloves.. wasnt that convenient.. i sedated the white rat... put it on my palm and just stroked it as it slept... cutie..
I think i was quite suay.. to be sitted beside this SIAO doc.. who derives pleasure from torturing animals... Eeewwww.... she was like "sorry mousey.." then proceeded to poke the eye socket.. and was like showing off.. "come see"...
*faintz* seriously i dun think we are supposed to be doing that.. cause it's only a DEMO by the lecturers... nt all to try... -.-lll
That's nt all.. she.. she... somemore.. did the heart thingy.... of course the mousey had to die... then she just threw the poor thing back into the box
*Loud plop sound* -.-lll CANNT LAY IT PROPERLY IN THE BOX IZZIT?? WHY MUST THROW!! GRRR...... idiot... DISREPECTFUL TO THE DEAD.. i hate people who treat animals cruely... animals have a life too... dun you know that?? I take the glass tube and poke ur eye... see if you like that or not!! Grr... idiot... i think doctors are just to prone to cuttin things up... no feelin at all...
Personally was quite traumatised by her acts of cruelty.. so i just sit there and cont'd sayang-ing my sleeping rat... WHY DID I EVEN COME FOR THIS COURSE?!? damn sad lah.. had to destress during the break-time... ran back to the histo lab for comfort fr Mr Wong.. Just chatting with him helps... seriously..
After all these... was reallie feelin tired after the course... however, i still had tuition... grr... super duper tired... need sleep... haha.. but i'm fine today... Thank God i'm nt doing animal research.. dun think i can handle the animal cruelty thing on a day to day basis... just HEARING my lecturers killing the frogs.. i wanna cry already... sigh..
why do we have to kill animals... ='(
