Anyone dying to hear about my new job at NIE? hee.. None of u? then i dun say loh.. haha..

Anyway, the new job has been great~~ My colleagues seems like a wonderful brunch of people.. On my first day.. my mission of tat day was to tour around the school.. parading around.. to each and every lecturers, professors, colleagues that they though i shld know... and guess wat.. my legs were aching.. haha... u know lah.. a lazy person like me who NVR exercise.. NIE has millions and millions of step.. =P Well, at least i have a table and a desktop computer to surf the net with so i wont complain abt the condition of the "kinda messy" room..

And i LOVE the greenhouse!! with all the plants and stuff.. makes me feel so close to nature.. and all the fresh air.. i've been assigned to water the plants in the greenhse for 2 wks.. hee.. i reallie dun mind the hot sun and all the sweating.. juz bring a change of clothes loh.. I feel so much more comfy in this job rather then the SGH one.. where i inhale formalin all the time... like slow-poison to my system.. The greenhouse rather big.. one of these days i'll take a pic of it.. the colleagues here are all reallie nice... like them all already... juz hope that they stay this way forever.. hee..

There are so many labs and they strech across this llllooooooonnnnnggggggg......... corridor... i have to jog to get from 1 side to the other.. seriously... and all the labs are electronically locked so there's like lotsa key codes i have to remember..

so far this is only my third day and i have been enjoying myself here already... hope to stay here for a long time... ... =D

or shld i say reasons for nt boardin a bus:

1) people on the bus can b super smelly!! lolz..so suay.. i sat beside this secondary sch boy.. he sweat like crazy and smelled even worse... Eeewww... wear deodorant or something lah.. his hair was like drenched with sweat.. sort of dried up.. he just smells reallie bad.. i was like graspin for breath.. (yes.. tat's how bad it is..) couldnt even take a deep breath and the entire trip last like 20 mins? argh~ didnt want to appear rude and change seats.. so i had to bear with it.. stinko!!

2) people on the bus can be super WEIRD!! i sitting behind this young chap.. mab abt 18+? i always have a habit of proppin my knees up to the back of the seat in front of me... and this young chap was like (i dunno..) thinkin hit's his bed or something?!? was like bangin his body again the seat juz to get into a comfy position (i guess?!?) so i was like having knee trauma.. haha.. super weird.. the entire journey of 30mins? he was doing the same thing!! Damn annoyed!! Argh~~~

This 2 happenings happened on the same day.. my trip to and fro for my tutor kid.. how suay can i get? Very suay..

juz went to sign my NIE offer letter and i'll officially start work on 24th.. next wk.. yay~~ if have time mayb i'll juz 'pop' by the PE dept and ogle at cute hunks there.. wahaha~~ sab.. come on lets go together.. val.. u attached so betta dun call u.. hee..

anyway i went for dinner with my family on the sat nite.. jappy food.. and i realised something.. whenever i'm with my family.. i feel like i act like a spoilt brat.. haha.. cos i know that my elder bros will "give way" to me.. and so will my parents.. like juz request for my food and then sit there and act blur and let them handle the rest.. .. =P However, like when i'm with my mom alone, i'll be very protective of her?!? i'll order the stuff, request the drinks, pay the bill,etc.. i'll do everything.. haha.. Weird.. guess it's only when i know that i'm the youngest there, then i can be a brat.. u know, the youngest sister so i can spolit! it's my right.. =P

anyway, this is my week of relaxation and retail therapy~~ haha.. enjoy whilst i can ya? But i cant wait to start workin also.. .. =D

YES!! i have left SGH already!! yesterday was my last day le.. kinda bitter-sweet.. was actually having lotsa fun yesterday.. chattin with the 2 rabiahs.. the poly students.. and OF CUZ.. MR Wong!!

And the stupidiest thingy i hear of happened yesterday.. i bought some chocolates for them as like a farewell/thank u thingy.. then i wrote on the box.. "Thank you.. blah.. blah.." then i wrote "Note to Mr Wong: u can have 2 chocolates, extra for u".. this is meant like a joke thingy lah.. juz to make him a little happy.. then... i heard fr bao-bao that irene refuse to eat the chocolates becos of my comment abt Mr Wong.. ha ha.. saying something like i got Mr Wong in trouble??!!?? WAHAHA~~ What the?? i'm like watever lah.. i brought EXPENSIVE chocolates for u.. u want to eat, u eat.. u dun wanna eat then, DUN EAT LAH!!!

THEN~~ at the end of the day.. when i saw auntie ong.. she was asking me whether i counted specifically 1 chocolate for each person and an extra one for Mr Wong??? WAH~~ U THINK I'M SO STINGY??? COUNT SPECIFICALLY?? HAHA~~ then i Proclaimed LOUDLY to her.. " AUNTIE ONG U THINK I SO 'NIAO' IZZIT??" ha ha.. buy chocolates for them to eat also so difficult?? i spoke to my boss this morning. Told her abt the damaged blade holder & (thank God) she didnt aske me to repay the amount. Phew... Been praying abt this matter & sure enuff GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS!! The talk with my boss ended up with me in tears.... Grr.. I hate crying in front of others BUT cannot control! what to do?.. it was good in a sense that i told her i'm having a hard time adjusting, thinkin of leaving, tec.. In fact, she told me tat if i'm having such a hard time, i shld move on.. Yay! Just what i needed to hear. She didnt stop me or anything, which is great! i guess my crying convinced her that i'm miserable here.. I've been feelin so depressed, esp on friday cos of the damaged thingy..

Worry, worry, worry... i hate worrying. Prayed to God and He took my worries away! SERIOUSLY! Feelin great at the moment.. =)

ON a happier note, my driving has been GREAT! NO big boo-boos anyway.. I think i'm ready to conquer the world! haha.. no lah.. more like ready to conquer the driving test only.. =P i've been so so bent on buyin a car! think i'll porb get a 2nd-hand one.. cos i'm pretty sure i'll scratch any car i drive somehow or rather.. ha.. But i'll see how it goes 1st.. money wise.. need sponsers! seriously!! DONATIONS ANYONE?? (BIG WIDE SMILE) =D

Latest update.. .. I GOT THE NIE JOB!! YAHOO!!! HOORAY!!! Thank God once again!! gonna quit my job tml.. hee..

Been in the Frozen Section for abt 1 week already.. nope.. 4 days to be exact.. On my first day there, i'm like "Woah~~ Beyond COOL!!" FS is located juz beside the other OTs.. It's freezing cool in there.. abt 22 degrees?? ha ha.. i had to wear the blue scrubs.. the same as the nurses and surgeons in the OT.. it's like a kimono-style wrap-around kind.. everthing is like sterile, sterile, sterile.. no outside clothes/foot-wear..

Basically wat happens in the FS, is that the surgeons would extract part of the tumor and also the margins surrounding them.. these very fresh pieces of meat would then be sent to our tiny little lab.. there.. my pathologist would cut the different portions up and we would freeze them in liquid nitrogen.. the specimen would be solidify and then sliced up, stained by us.. the slides would then be handed to my pathologist to examine under the microscope.. Pretty much quite stress there.. as all these are supposed to be done within 15mins.. cause the surgeons would be waiting for ur results with the patient still on the operating bed.. our results would determine whether the patient's tumour has already spread/invaded the other parts other body.. then the surgeons would cut out the specific parts.. so.. my job must be done FAST FAST FAST!! Stress lah~~ it's like a one-man job there.. cos only have 1 tech and 1 pathologist..

i've already mastered the whole procedure but i do quite slow.. Been practisin on the cryostat.. tryin to perfect my skills.. my H&E stains are quite ok also.. i hate it when all the specimens arrived at one time.. like 6 specimens come all in 1 shot. ai yo.. headache.. i get confused very easily.. that's y i hate workin there.. i hate my job~~ ARGH~~

A shitty thing happened yesterday.. i accidentally dented the blade holder of the cryostat... T.T and it cost 400 bucks.. T.T.. .. .. dunno wat to do also.. then this stupid guy (Mr.A) isnt exactly very helpful.. i was feelin so guilty already.. he went on callin dunno who and tell them that "the new gal spoilt MY new blade holder" %*&^%(^%(#$&)#*@^&@ stupid piece of shit.. GRrrr... not sure whether i need to pay for it or nt.. haiz~~ T.T the cryostat shld have a warnin sign statin that the blade holder dents so easily!!! how do i know that i over-freeze the specimen?? HOW DO I KNOW?? I MEAN WTH??? Grr.. .. i juz wanna get out of this job right now.. feellin so frustrated right now...

Anyway, enuff of that shit.. .. i went for my second interview with NIE on thurs.. seems kinda hopeful.. it was me and another gerl.. so my chances are 50%.. the whole interview went quite well i think.. i reallie hope to get this job now.. i'm desperate to run away fr SGH.. seriously.. .. T.T pls nie.. call me NOW~~~
