Been in the Frozen Section for abt 1 week already.. nope.. 4 days to be exact.. On my first day there, i'm like "Woah~~ Beyond COOL!!" FS is located juz beside the other OTs.. It's freezing cool in there.. abt 22 degrees?? ha ha.. i had to wear the blue scrubs.. the same as the nurses and surgeons in the OT.. it's like a kimono-style wrap-around kind.. everthing is like sterile, sterile, sterile.. no outside clothes/foot-wear..

Basically wat happens in the FS, is that the surgeons would extract part of the tumor and also the margins surrounding them.. these very fresh pieces of meat would then be sent to our tiny little lab.. there.. my pathologist would cut the different portions up and we would freeze them in liquid nitrogen.. the specimen would be solidify and then sliced up, stained by us.. the slides would then be handed to my pathologist to examine under the microscope.. Pretty much quite stress there.. as all these are supposed to be done within 15mins.. cause the surgeons would be waiting for ur results with the patient still on the operating bed.. our results would determine whether the patient's tumour has already spread/invaded the other parts other body.. then the surgeons would cut out the specific parts.. so.. my job must be done FAST FAST FAST!! Stress lah~~ it's like a one-man job there.. cos only have 1 tech and 1 pathologist..

i've already mastered the whole procedure but i do quite slow.. Been practisin on the cryostat.. tryin to perfect my skills.. my H&E stains are quite ok also.. i hate it when all the specimens arrived at one time.. like 6 specimens come all in 1 shot. ai yo.. headache.. i get confused very easily.. that's y i hate workin there.. i hate my job~~ ARGH~~

A shitty thing happened yesterday.. i accidentally dented the blade holder of the cryostat... T.T and it cost 400 bucks.. T.T.. .. .. dunno wat to do also.. then this stupid guy (Mr.A) isnt exactly very helpful.. i was feelin so guilty already.. he went on callin dunno who and tell them that "the new gal spoilt MY new blade holder" %*&^%(^%(#$&)#*@^&@ stupid piece of shit.. GRrrr... not sure whether i need to pay for it or nt.. haiz~~ T.T the cryostat shld have a warnin sign statin that the blade holder dents so easily!!! how do i know that i over-freeze the specimen?? HOW DO I KNOW?? I MEAN WTH??? Grr.. .. i juz wanna get out of this job right now.. feellin so frustrated right now...

Anyway, enuff of that shit.. .. i went for my second interview with NIE on thurs.. seems kinda hopeful.. it was me and another gerl.. so my chances are 50%.. the whole interview went quite well i think.. i reallie hope to get this job now.. i'm desperate to run away fr SGH.. seriously.. .. T.T pls nie.. call me NOW~~~
